Only until tomorrow though 🙂 We had a great week out at the lake.

Watched a forest fire start and the subsequent water bombing and such for the next few hours until they got it under control. Very cool to see, and very happy that it was small and contained quickly.

Spent a lot of time in the water, and had a breakthrough with Connor. He finally decided to get in a boat AND go tubing! I’m thrilled! We spent all day yesterday on the lake and had a fabulous time.

Scrapped a bit and got a few layouts started…just need to add a few finishing touched and get them up here. Heading off for a camping weekend tomorrow, so hopefully will have some new stuff to share by Monday. Have a great weekend!

One more photo to share! I promise to return to layouts soon 🙂

life is

Heading out to the lake tomorrow for our family reunion this weekend. Today will be spent in a mad rush trying to get everything organized. Actually, the packing will be easy, but I am also going to be taking out some scrap stuff, which takes awhile to decide on the whole ‘what to take, what not to take’ debate 🙂  Hoping for great weather and lots of photo ops! See you in a week!

One of my favourite places to relax in the summer is at our cabin on Shuswap lake. We spend a lot of time out there and the kids have so much fun digging in the sand and playing in the water. I snapped this photo over the weekend…and of course used a few of the new techniques I’ve learned from Jessica Sprague! I’ve been spending so much time editing my photo’s I haven’t scrapped in a week!

On day 5 of Frame-ups and Special Effects with Jessica Sprague. Todays lesson is playing with textures. Here are a couple of my edits.

this pic was taken using the colour select feature on my camera, so only the orange is in colour and the rest is b&w.

I finally sat down to do the first few lessons from Jessica Sprague’s class Frame-ups and Special Effects. Such simple techniques that make such a big impact! Here’s a few samples:

I love how SIMPLE it is to do this!! I honestly don’t think I would ever get into digital scrapping, but I can see myself editing my pics a lot more before I send them off to the printers 🙂

Thru Thick & Thin July 7, 2009

thru thick and thin

Supplies used: My Mind’s Eye pp, Heidi Swapp rub ons , Pebbles Inc (&) and Bo Bunny (swirl) chipboard, House of 3 definition, American Crafts cs, Bazzill Just-the-Edge strips, dollar store buttons.

I’ve decided to take the plunge and try out for the design team at Creative Scrappers. Really, I had the layout finished, so I might as well give it a shot, right? So my fingers are crossed and we’ll see what happens!

I love this picture of my boys. I needed a picture of holding hands for a challenge I was working on, so I dragged them all outside and acted very much like a drill seargent trying to get them to hold hands and walk away from me NICELY. Needless to say, I have many pictures of the chaos that followed…but that’s another layout 🙂 This was one of my good ones though. I hope they will always stick together and be each others biggest supporters…wishfull thinking probably, but I can dream can’t I?
