November Blog Hop November 27, 2010

Welcome to Lovebug Scrapbooking’s “INSPIRE US!” blog hop!! Our blog hops take place on the last Saturday of every month. Thanks so much for joining us!

If you just happened by this blog and didn’t realize a blog hop was taking place, please go back to Lovebug Scrapbooking and start the Hop. You won’t want to miss all the inspiration from our members……. or the prizes 🙂

Our theme for this month is CHRISTMAS!

Christmas tends to be a crazy time around here. We spend a lot of time with family and friends creating great memories. The problem is, I usually have very little time to scrap.

One of my solutions to this is to ‘pre-scrap’ layouts before I have the pictures. I’ll think about some of the memories I want to record (and sometimes about what new products I want to use…) and create a layout with certain pictures in mind. This helps me in two ways. First, it helps me focus my picture-taking to make sure that I get certain shots. Second, it gives me a real sense of accomplishment when I get my photos back from Costco and can plunk them right onto a page and call it done. Awesome!

Below are a few examples of my layouts that are ‘picture ready’. You’ll see on a few of these layouts, I’ve even finished the journaling. Some of these are from last year, and they now have pics and are in albums. Some I just created based on the fabulous challenges going on over at Lovebug right now for the ’12 Days of Christmas’ event.  If you need some more inspiration, be sure to check it out. Hope you enjoy and Merry Christmas!

Blog Hop! October 23, 2010

Welcome to Lovebug Scrapbooking’s “INSPIRE US!” blog hop!! Our blog hops NORMALLY take place on the last Saturday of every month. This month we decided to go a week earlier, so you could get some Halloween inspiration before the holiday 🙂 Thanks so much for joining us!

If you just happened by this blog and didn’t realize a blog hop was taking place, please go back to Lovebug Scrapbooking and start the Hop. You won’t want to miss all the ispiration from our members……. or the prizes 🙂

Our theme for October is HALLOWEEN!

I’ll be the first to admit that scrapping the ‘annual events’ (birthdays, easter, Christmas etc. ) are always the most difficult for me. When the same thing happens year after year, I find it hard to keep it fresh. My solution for Halloween is to maybe scrap a layout if I have something specific that I want to remember, but otherwise I have a 6×6 album for each of my boys where I plan to do a quick and simple mini layout showing each years costume. And that’s it! No pressure to come up with something exciting to say about carving pumpkins or trick-or-treating year after year, while still preserving the memory of Halloween for them.

Here are a few examples of layouts that I have done about Halloween (one that has yet to find a picture). Enjoy!

This blog hop will run from today, October 23rd until October 25th.
We will be drawing for winners on October 26th.

Welcome to Lovebug Scrapbooking’s “INSPIRE US!” blog hop!! This is the first of 12 months of inspiration, each to take place on the last Saturday of every month. Thanks so much for joining us! If you just happened by this blog and didn’t realize a blog hop was taking place, please go back to Lovebug Scrapbooking and start the Hop. You won’t want to miss all the ispiration from our members……. or the prizes 🙂 Our theme for January is “Love is In The Air”.

Here is the ‘Love’ layout I created:

And from the scraps, I made a quick Valentine’s Day card for my husband (good thing he doesn’t read my blog!):

Supplies used: Making Memories patterned paper and stickers, American Crafts thickers, Heidi Swapp glitter flower

If you are like me, and have a house full of boys, Valentine’s day is the perfect opportunity to pull out some of those girly supplies and get some use out of them. And if you have girls…I’m sure you know what to do!

This blog hop will run from today, January 30th until February 6th. There will be a prize drawing on February 7th. Check the Lovebug Blog for more details!
